50 Years of Service and we are committed to being there for you for the next 50!

Sight Connection for the blind & partially sighted (logo)

At Sight Connection, we believe that losing vision doesn’t mean losing independence.  Every day we help people of all ages across Western Washington adapt to vision loss, learn the tools they need to remain independent, and re-connect to the work, hobbies and people who help them thrive.

What started as a community center back in 1965 providing a social gathering space for the blind in Seattle, has grown into a comprehensive low vision services agency supporting five counties.

Over the years, you may have donated clothing to Community Services for the Blind, or volunteered at Vision Services.  Perhaps someone from Community Services for the Blind & Partially Sighted came to your home to provide orientation training.  Or you might have purchased a new cane or magnifier from Sight Connection.  That was always us.

We’ve changed our location, our name, and our logo a few times over the last 50 years, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to those living with vision loss.

As we enter our next 50 years, I’m honored to share this moment in our history with you. By using a braille illustration and re-incorporating “for the blind and partially sighted” in to our logo, we are reinforcing our commitment to individuals all along the low vision spectrum.

Our new theme: Adapt. Learn. Thrive., embodies our comprehensive approach to independence; focusing on the positive benefits one can gain from our services.

Despite our new look, we are still the same organization you’ve grown to count on for 50 years, and we are committed to being there for you for the next 50.

Sincerely,

Shannon Grady Martsolf
President/CEO
