Ways to Give

For more information about ways to support our work and to support the independence of people with vision loss, please send an email to giving@sightconnection.org, or call (206) 525-5556 and ask to speak to the Development Department.

In-Kind Donations

We welcome donations of adaptive aids in good working order that are no longer being used. Items such as magnifiers, white canes and CCTVs are used in our programs or donated to individuals who cannot afford to purchase them.

Appreciated Property

Gifts of appreciated securities and real property may give you both an immediate income tax deduction and estate tax savings. It is always a good idea to check with your attorney or financial planner before making any gift of appreciated property.

Retirement Accounts

There are both income tax and estate tax benefits to donating an IRA or other retirement funds. This is an effective way to leave a significant gift to SightConnection as part of your estate plans.

Life Insurance

There are a variety of ways to use life insurance to make a donation. You can name SightConnection as a beneficiary, donate an existing policy, or buy a new policy to donate. Any benefits SightConnection receives from your insurance may be excludable from your taxable estate.

United Way

We are funded, in part, by United Way of King County. By donating to United Way of King County, you can help to support our services.

You may also specifically designate your gift to SightConnection through the United Way organization in your community.

Employer Matching Gifts

An Employer Matching Gift program enables companies and their employees to extend their charitable giving.

To find out if your company has a matching gift program and how you can contribute through the program, please contact your human resources department for more information.
