Glaucoma Awareness Month

Early diagnosis and treatment can save your vision

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that can damage the eye’s optic nerve, the part of the eye that sends images to the brain. It is a leading cause of vision loss and blindness in the United States. Glaucoma may be completely painless and may go undetected for years, so it is important to get regular comprehensive eye exams. If detected early, before noticeable vision loss occurs, glaucoma can usually be controlled and severe vision loss can often be prevented.
